The development of the transportation infrastructure can not keep up with the increase in passenger traffic mobility needs.
Flexible transportation systems project Innovative solutions which target higher capacity utilization levels will come into prominence. These principles will be set off in both the individual and the public transportation area. The two modes of transportation cannot be treated separately, but as part of the transportation system, therefore their effects on each other should be taken into account. During the division of transportation, the priority of public transportation needs to be kept in mind. One of the key issues of sustainable mobility is the grouping or combined treatment of travel demand, with which the number of vehicles on the transportation network can be reduced. Flexible transportation, also called demand driven transportation is a relatively new form of public transportation. The common feature of these systems is that within a certain limit, the passenger does not need to adapt to the system, but the system adapts to the passenger. Flexible transportation systems make the standard features (schedules, routes) of traditional public transportation systems variable in time and space. Within the project, we aim to develop a new, flexible transportation system, which is environmentally friendly, its operation results in less energy consumption and emissions, is better adapted to the needs of passengers, and contributes to long-term green sustainability of communities.
